Project management is a methodology and discipline like, say, accountancy or human resources.
You can take courses in it, take exams (groan), and work in project management all your professional life.
The skills and knowledge can be applied to various sectors, industries, organisational structures and used over and over – for lots of different projects: Data Centre moves, separating companies, introducing recycling schemes, developing a new application, raising awareness about a social cause, conservation projects…the list goes on and on…
The greatest thing about project management is the universality of what it is trying to achieve – a change!
The second greatest thing is that the approach is scalable – which means that no two projects need to have exactly the same documentation depth or governance structure.
So Ecomaris is focused on conservation projects – am I in the right place if I have a different kind of project goal?
You are in the right place! – a project for community solar panels, or increasing biodiversity awareness, or restoring a heritage building, could all utilise the templates and adapt them to fit.
Ecomaris has used the word ‘conservation’ to describe a desire to cherish, keep, restore the natural world. If we can aim for improvements, let’s go for it! And we’re here to help!
